The girls from 6th class are taking part in a tag rugby programme with Ray McCabe from Leinster Rugby. Ray is teaching the girls all the rules of tag rugby including passing and travelling. On Tuesday the girls had the opportunity to practice lots of drills and even participated in some mini games and matches. Ray will be working with the girls in order to prepare them for a "Twilight Blitz," in Clontarf Rugby Club in the new year!

We had so much fun in the lead up to Halloween this year at St Brigid's!
On the day of midterm, we had a jam-packed day of super events! To begin our day we had our regular Wake Up Shake Up in the yard. We had some special Halloween dances to learn, so it was fun to showcase them to the parents.
We also had buddy reading in our outdoor classroom, a dance workshop with Ms Dempsey and a Halloween disco!
What an awesome way to start the midterm!

The girls from 6th class have been taking part in the Marathon Kids Programme for the past 8 weeks. The girls have been running a minimum of 5 laps a day in order to build up to their 42km target. The girls showed incredible determination and finished on Tuesday with only 5km to go. The girls then had the opportunity to go to May Park where they ran their last few laps. The girls were met by parents and students in 5th class who stood and cheered the girls on. We are so proud of the girls and this amazing achievement! Well done to all involved.

On Wednesday 26th of October, our school hosted our first ever pumpkin carving competition. The girls and their families were challenged to carve a pumpkin and display it in the school for all of the community. We were absolutely blown away by the creativity of all those who entered.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the competition and exhibition. It was incredible to see families come together and celebrate creativity.

As part of Science Week, 4th-6th class took part in a forensic science workshop. The girls had the opportunity to collect and examine different pieces of evidence from a crime scene. The girls used their detective skills to find out information about the culprits. They examined fingerprints, footprints and DNA. They used this evidence to eliminate different suspects. In the end, they uncovered the real criminal. The girls got to ask lots of questions about working on crime scenes and examining evidence.
