On Tuesday 14th of June the girls from sixth class were very please to be invited to Clontarf cricket club to watch a professional match between Ireland and South Africa. The classes walked down with their teachers. It was a very tense match between the two teams, but in the end South Africa took home the trophy! We really enjoyed watching the match and having our lunch out in the sun with our friends.

On Friday 17th June, the girls in 5th class got to go on their first school tour since 2nd class! We went to Causey Farm in Co. Meath. We enjoyed lots of fun activities including bog jumping and petting lots of very cute farm animals. The bog was definitely our favourite part! We all had a great day!
On Friday 17th of June the girls from Ms Barry’s sixth class brought their Junior Infant buddies to St. Mary’s secondary school for a sorts day! The girls set up seven stations with different activities for the girls to participate in. There was an egg and spoon race, obstacle course, running race, wheelbarrow race, 3 legged race, sack races and a penalty shoot out. The girls had 7 minutes at each station. We had so much fun! After all our exercising we were really hungry so we had our lunch on the field. We played a couple of games together before coming back to school.

On Friday 3rd of June, the two 4th classes went on a tour to Causey Farm in Meath. There was so much excitement on the bus, it was great for the girls to finally all go on a trip together. The girls had great fun on a tractor ride to the bog. They went on an obstacle course through the woods. They got to see lots of farm animals including lambs, horses, cows, chickens, alpacas and some piglets who were only born the morning of the tour. They learned about the bog as they made their way to the bog hole and spotted some bog cotton on their way. The highlight of the trip was when the girls took off their shoes and socks and jumped into the bog hole. They were covered from head to toe in muck and they absolutely loved it. And if they weren't already wet and muddy enough, they made sure they were by jumping and splashing around in every puddle they could find. The girls really enjoyed their day out!

On Tuesday 21st of June the two sixth classes had a pyjama and tea party! The girls all brought in cakes, cookies, brownies and other baked goods to decorate. We had lots of fun putting icing, sprinkles and other yummy things on our cakes. The girls also had the chance to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat with their buddies from Junior Infants. In the afternoon we had a dance party and showed off our best moves! Great fun was had by all!
