The girls in St.Brigids had an amazing time celebrating Creative Arts Week. The theme for this years week was 'endangered animals.' Each class from Junior Infants to 6th was given their own endangered animal to research over the week. The girls then had the opportunity to say some facts, write a poem or even sing a song about their chosen animal over the intercom. Each class also created a piece of art that represented their endangered animal. Ms. Flynn orgainised an art exhibition in the hall on Friday 13th of May. It was amazing to see all of the girls amazing art on show!

Active Week 2022 took place from the 24th-29th of April 2022.  Our active week kicked off in St. Anne's Park where children and their families ran in the Junior Parkrun.  Throughout the week all classes participated in a variety of taster sessions which included Yoga as Gaeilge, Ultimate Frisbee, Fencing, Tag-Rugby, Badminton, Dancing and Cricket.  Whole school activities included Active Walkway activities, Orienteering, Skipathon and an Active Picnic.   Each day an active challenge was sent to the whole school to try out for homework.  We also had Wake Up Shake Ups where all parents and childminders were invited to participate in some dancing before the start of the day on the Monday and Friday.  Many parents and grandparents also came into the school to teach playground games to classes, with some parents and grandparents even showing competing in a relay race which the children loved!  The finale of our Active Week was a whole school event where all the finalists of the Skipathon had a "Skip Off."  The teachers also challenged the Active Committee to a game of Dodgeball which was also lots of fun.  The sun shone on St. Brigid's for the whole week and Active School Week 2022 was a great success!

The girls in Mrs Delany’s Fifth Class continue to perfect their knitting skills. Over the past few weeks we have been busy knitting Easter chicks and bunnies. Being able to knit is a tricky skill to master and the girls are truly shining, no matter what level they are at. Well done, girls!

On March 31st, Mrs. Delany’s Fifth Class enjoyed a Fabric and Fibre workshop under the wonderful guidance of Fiona. The girls thoroughly enjoyed creating their own picture in which there were ‘No Rules’. I’m sure you will agree that their work is both beautiful and very creative. Well done, girls!
