The Senior Infants have been learning all 2D shapes this week. With the help of their buddies in 5th class, they created these marvellous monsters using lots of 2D shapes. Aren't they scary?!

Today Mrs. Delany's Fifth Class visited 'The Casino at Marino.' The Casino is a neoclassical structure and is considered to be one of the finest examples of this type of architecture in the world. It is a building bursting with surprises and tricks.

Thank you to our guides, Hazel and Brigid, whose wealth of knowledge and facts about the building were just amazing. The girls thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the tour. Their favourite rooms were the Zodiac Room and the State Room. 

Huge thanks also to Annette and Teresa who accompanied us on the long walk both down and back. It's safe to say that we were all exhausted on our return but the Casino was definitely worth the time and effort we spent to get there.

Ms. O'Neill's class finally got their chance to visit 'The Casino at Marino' (their first attempt to visit was cancelled by torrential rain!). But it was worth the wait! The girls got the chance to explore the stunning sixteen rooms inside, examine the incredible details of the exterior, admire the stunning craftsmanship and explore the basement where they got to see the tunnels from the Casino. They were shown around by their two brilliant guides, Hazel and Martin. The girls learned a lot (and got to show off their own wealth of knowledge). A big 'thank you' to Brendan and Fiona who accompanied the class (and organised the lovely group photos!). The girls had a brilliant day.

Mrs McDonald's 1st class are enjoying some fun outdoor activities, kicking off European Week of Sport 2022.

The knitting needles are hard at work in Fifth Class, Room 9. No sooner has Mrs. Delany turned her back and the needles are out! The girls have already produced some classy hair and wrist bands and the cutest little teds. We are hoping to see the odd witch, pumpkin or ghostie making an appearance pretty soon, too.

The girls from our sixth classes having been taking part in boxing as part of our partnership with Dublin City Councils sports officers.

Noel our trainer has been teaching us all about the importance of coordination and movement. 
We have also learnt lots of new boxing combinations and have practiced being quick on our feet. 

The girls are really enjoying the opportunity to try out some new sports!
