The girls and staff in St. Brigid's made a huge effort in the run up to Halloween. Every class participated in the Halloween Art Competition and the girls got the opportunity to do lots of fun activities in their own class rooms. On Friday the children dressed up in their Halloween costumes. From witches to vampires, ghosts to pumpkins, there were lots of spook characters around the school!! The girls thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor Halloween disco and had great fun dancing with their friends.

Mrs Delany’s Fifth Class have been busy learning to knit over the past two weeks. It’s tricky when you are just starting out but the girls are already making great progress. Well done girls! Keep up the
hard work.

Each of the classes participated in lots of fun activities this week including playing larger sized Maths based games,(Connect 4, Quoits, Noughts and Crosses, TinCan Alley, Snakes and Ladders, Jenga and Dominoes), Lego, puzzles, coding, Maths trails,Scratch/Beebot challenges, Maths themed Art lessons as well as online Maths games and activities.On Wednesday, the girls wore Maths themed t-shirts which had some cool shapes, colours, designs, lines, dots and numbers.Using our 'Maths Eyes' we were able to challenge each other and create some fun Maths questions.The girls thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Maths Week in St.Brigid's and learned lots while also having great fun.

The girls in 6th Class had a very special graduation mass today.  Fr. Liam came to the school to celebrate the mass with the girls.  Ms. Shiels, Ms. McDonald and Ms. Howard took part in the ceremony with the class teachers, Ms. O'Donovan and Ms. McKenna.  Following the mass,  some of the girls shared poems that they had written about their classmates and the teachers in the school.  Ms. McKenna and Ms. O'Donovan gave the girls their graduation certificates and a special badge to mark the occasion.  We wish all the girls the very best of luck as they move to their new schools.

Both Junior Infant classes settled in very well and had a fantastic first month in school. The girls made lots of friends, played fun games, listened to stories, sang songs and did lots of colouring. The girls learned lots of new information and are thoroughly enjoying school.

Congratulations to all the girls in Ms. Delany's 5th class who ran the same distance as a marathon over the past 4 months!!!
