Both 4th classes have been very busy the past two weeks learning about the Normans. The girls did fabulous projects on Adobe Spark while others went for the more traditional approach and made amazing posters. They were given specific criteria and had to do a lot of research.
The girls were also given a challenge to create a Norman Castle using any materials that they liked. They were very creative and used their imaginations.

Staying safe during school closure
Since the announcement of school closures all the girls in St. Brigid's GNS have been working very hard by engaging in distant learning. Some girls created posters to encourage us all to stay safe during this difficult time.

Staying Active at Home - Active Week
The girls have been doing lots of fun activities and exercises at home to help them stay fit and active during lockdown.
The Active Committee invited all families to get involved in 'St. Brigid's Active Week' by taking part in the 'Active Home Week Challenge'. In order to complete this challenge the children had to find four different ways of being active each day. They had to engage in 60 minutes of exercise a day!!

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2020!
Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as an tseachtain seo!
We had a great week of craic agus spraoi sa scoil as each of the classes made a huge effort for Seachtain na Gaeilge. Throughout the week the girls made an extra effort to speak as Gaeilge in their classes, in the corridors and in the school yard.
There were lots of activities in the school to celebrate SnaG. A pupil from each class was chosen as a winner in our St.Patrick's Day Art competition. A 'Cainteoir na Seachtaine' was also selected from each of the classes and presented with a prize from Ms. Diffley. On Tuesday we had a trad group 'Airneáin' visit the school to give workshops to all the classes. On Wednesday 'Cluiche Gaeilge' were organised for the children to participate in which they thoroughly enjoyed. On Friday we had young musicians from Ceoltas Ceoltóirí Éirinn visit the school. They performed a variety of traditional Irish songs and the children sang along. They also talked about the different instruments they played and what they were made from. Unfortunately we didn't get to have our 'Lá Glas' and 'Céilí Mor' which was planned for Friday due to the school closures. All in all the children had a great week and learned lots of new phrases.
'Míle Buíochas' to Ms.McDOnald for coordinating the week and to all the teachers and pupils for making it an enjoyable week!
