Science week took place this week, from Nov 10th-17th. The classes engaged in lots of Science activities during the week. Two Scientists from ‘Anyone4Science’ will visited the school on Mon 11th to deliver workshops which focused on Forces to our S.I, 2nd, 4th & 6th classes.
On Tues 12th, our two 3rd classes visited Le Chéile in Donnycarney for a Science Roadshow about 'Dippy the Dino's Digestive Dilemma'.
The two 5th classes participated in a series of Ozobots workshops. Ozobots are pocket-sized robots that are programmable through hand-drawn colour-coded lines. Ozobots connect children to the world of robotics and teach them how to code, design and solve problems.
Our Junior & Senior Infants were busy using Bee Bots in their classroom— BeeBot is an exciting robot designed specifically for use by young children. This colourful, easy-to-operate, and friendly little robot is a perfect tool for teaching sequencing, estimation, problem-solving, coding and just having fun!
Our 3rd—6th classes enjoyed a 5 week module of Scratch coding with Ms.Scott and class teachers before mid-term break. Each of the classes visited the computer room once a week and engaged in interactive stories, games, and animations using Scratch.
