We held a spelling bee in school recently! First we had in-class competitions. Then the winning 4 of those competitions went up against the 4 from the other class in their year. Then finally we had junior and senior competitions. The winner of the junior competition was Julie McGowan and the winner of the senior competition was Cuileann Monaghan. Well done to those girls but also to everyone involved! Your hard work on your spellings has paid off!
The girls in both Fourth Classes have been very busy participating in The Junior Achievement Programme for the past four weeks. Mrs Delany's class have been guided by Louise Hyland from Top Oil Ltd. It's been such a wonderful and enjoyable experience. We definitely have some budding entrepreneurs ready to make their mark in the business world and we will also get to visit Top Oil's Head Office on June 20th.
The girls spent two weeks busily working on their projects on Japan.Last Monday, the projects were presented in class. We learned so much about the life and culture of Japan, from its natural features, to food, clothes, education and pastimes. One group even made their own movie with its very own intriguing and captivating trailer! Definitely one to watch. Enjoy!
