Well done to our 6th class pupils Victoria Leder, Lorena Tome & Katie Kent who recently participated in the Intel Ireland's Mini-Scientist Regional Finals and WON!! They are now through to the National Finals which are due to be held in the The Helix in Febraury 2017. Well done girls, you have done yourselves and the school very proud! 

Ms.Flynn’s 1^st class learnt about pointillism in Art and looked at paintings by Paul Signac and Georges Seurat. They were surprised and impressed that one painting took over two years to make. First of all, they practised painting with dots on paper using the back of a paintbrush. Then they decided to make a class quilt using this style of art. The girls all got a piece of fabric to create an animal scene and with the help of Ms. Flynn's Mum, the pieces were sewn together using an old sewing machine!

Well done to the girls from 5th & 6th classes who participated in our school Science exhibition as part of Intel Mini Scientist Competition. The winning group from Ms. Delany's 6th class will represent the school at the regional final!

Our Senior infants, 2nd, 4th & 6th classes really enjoyed their Lego workshops! These workshops enabled the students to exercise scientific inquiry skills through direct hands on Science, Maths, Engineering and technology (S.T.E.M) activities. Children got the opportunity to practice and develop skills using LEGO education resources to predict, estimate, observe, measure and record investigations!

What better way to begin the festive season than with a Christmas Jumper Day! The girls dressed up in Christmas jumpers today and kindly donated any spare change to LauraLynn, Ireland's first children's hospice. The choir sang some lovely Christmas songs and the infants sang a song or two! We had RTE News2day visit the school to record all the excitement and to interview some of the pupils!
