On Monday, our Choir girls along with teachers Ms.Wickham, Ms Flynn and Ms.Howard made the journey over to the RDS to participate in the Feis Ceoil & Sacred Competitions. The girls put on a very impressive performance in their first competition and were very narrowly beaten in the first competition. At 4pm the girls performed in the Sacred Competition and won 1st prize! Very well deserved after the huge effort the girls and teachers put in. Well done girls. Next stop, Cork Choir Festival in April!

Sacred Comp & Feis Ceoil

Inspired by an idea for World Book Day, Mrs. Kearney's class decided to write their own personal stories for the girls in Ms. Flynn's 1st class. The 6th class girls had also built up a rapport with the younger children as they had been listening to their reading every Friday for the past few months. In preparation for writing the story, they interviewed a child in order to find out a bit more about them; their interests/ hobbies, friends and family. The information they gathered was sprinkled throughout the story they created; much to the delight of the younger children. It was a very worthwhile exercise and thanks to Mrs. Kearney and her girls for their unique stories.

A big thank you to Catherine who offered the class to the girls. The girls put in a huge effort to make the finished arrangements! Happy Mother's Day!
