All of our classes came together in the hall on the last day of term to watch each other perform some festive favourites! There was singing, dancing and lots more fun throughout our morning show. Well done to all our girls for displaying such talent. everyone had so much fun! the winners of our Christmas Art competitions were also presented with prizes.

The girls from 4th & 5th classes got to experience 'Foodoppi's Molecular Gastronomy Edible Science Show' in Le Chéile during Science week. Foodoppi presented "Eat your Science" hosted by Celebrity Chef Louise Lennox and Food Scientist Aisling Larkin. The exciting, fast paced science and food show gave the children an opportunity to see food become experiments they could eat. It also enabled the children to explore chemical reactions and physical changes of food. unlocking the science secrets, amazing their eyes and tastebuds! A traditional fruit salad was redesigned using the knowledge of hydrocolloids and the world of renowned molecular gastronomy techniques to make fruit spaghetti, yogurt spheres and cook with one of the coldest liquids on the planet, liquid nitrogen. 

The girls had an amazing time, getting to explore food, flavour and science!

All of our classes joined in some festive fitness fun as part of our Active School programme in the school. Some activities included a santa sack race, icicle hockey, jingle bell jumping, tinsel tubes and a bauble and spoon race! The girls really enjoyed the day!

The girls in Ms.McKenna's 3rd class visited our local Super Valu in Killester this morning. They learned about the importance of nutrition, eating a balanced diet and living a healthy lifestyle. The girls were guided through the bakery and the fresh food produce and lots more. They got to sample some healthy foods too and were also very grateful to have received a goody bag full of healthy pieces!

There is so much beautiful Christmas artwork displayed around the school this month.. from stockings to Rudolphs, winter scenes to cribs and much more! We also have some lovely Christmas trees and decorations displayed to add to the festive cheer!

The children in 4th class had great fun using lego WeDo construction sets and laptops to programme a crocodile to open and close its mouth. The girls learned lots about following instructions and how coding works. They worked in groups and were challenged to complete the task set. They used motors and sensors to move their creation. It was a big hit in the classes and immensely enjoyed by all!
