We had lots of celebrations in St Brigids as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.
On Tuesday the entire school were very lucky to have the opportunity to listen to some traditional music played by musicians. The girls enjoyed learning about the different instruments and how they work. As part of the workshop we also got to learn to some songs such as Molly Malone!
On Wednesday some of our classes enjoyed a visit from a storyteller. She brought an amazing array of handmade masks that she made to represent Irish folklore. Our students chose masks and had to embody the character they represented as our storyteller told the stories.
On Friday, we hosted a very special Wake Up Shake Up in the school yard. We invited all parents to come and enjoy some ceol agus damhsa Gaelach. Our whole school had been practicing Ballaí Luimnigh, and we’re very excited to perform in a whole school céilí.
To finish off our SNAG we hosted a céilí sa halla where all classes were invited to perform a song and a dance as Gaeilge. We were blown away by the talent! We also awarded some of our incredible students with cainetoir na seachtaine!
Maith sibh!
