On Friday Nina Hanvey, Kate Mc Govern and Aoife Boyle were chosen to go to Belfast to represent Dublin in the Cumann na mBunscol Friendship games. Here is an account of the day from one of the girls:

We played against Antrim in Gaelic for the Friendship Games. We met all the other girls at Connolly Station and left at 7:30am. We arrived at 10:00am in Belfast. The game started at 11:00am and sadly we lost. Both teams exchanged medals and we got to keep the gear. After we went for something to eat in the Devenish restaurant. Then we went on a bus tour around Belfast and learned lots of new things. We saw murals in the city. It was very interesting. We made lots of new friends and it was a great experience.

Last Friday, the girls in Ms.Concannon's 2nd class had their project day. They had been learning all about different places around the world and were interested in learning more, so they all chose a particular country/city they were interested in and researched interesting facts about it. The girls did an amazing job! They even dressed up. Ms. Diffley visited the class to look at all the great work and listen to so many interesting facts on different places around the world. It was a fantastic day! A lot of time and effort was put into each project and their presentation. Well done girls!

During European Week of Sport in September all of the classes in the school came together in the yard to dance!  The children were led by some of the teachers as they all danced and performed to 'Gummy Bear', The Shimmy Shake' and 'Macrarena'.

Drop Everything and Dance

Children from each of the classes took on the teachers in a penalty shoot-out. Noel, our care-taker, was goal-keeper and Ronnie, our GAA expert, was referee! The pupils managed to beat the teachers on the day with Ruby W from Ms. Devilly's class winning overall champion. Well done to all!

Ms.Reilly & Ms.Flynn's Junior Infants made 'Best Dad I ever Saw' using paper plates, while Ms.Howard's Senior Infants wrote lots of nice things about their Dads. Ms.McKenna's 3rd class designed some fabulous 'Dad you're my hero' shirts and ties for their Dads!

Father's Day Art!

The girls in Ms.Delany's 6th class were encouraged to think like engineers this week with a fun Science experiment. Each group had to build a tall tower using just spaghetti and marshmallows! The girls experimented with making different shapes to see what structure was the strongest. To test the structure, a toy bus was placed on each tower to see if they could bear the weight... there was lots of excitement in the classroom to see which towers would stand tall and which ones would collapse!
