The girls in Ms O'Connor's class had lots of fun making spaghetti and marshmallow towers last week. This was an awesome STEM challenge for the girls. They had to explore the design process: thinking, doing, prototyping and iteration. Check out the video to see how they got on!
Our school has been engaging in a very exciting project over the past few months. As part of creative schools our school has parterened up with artist and photographer Annie Holland. Annie has been teaching us all about living more sustainability. As part of our work with Annie, we wanted to send a message that using single use plastics is destroying our environment! We decided to create headpieces and outfits using single use plastics. We also decided to send letters to companies that are using plastic irresponsibly. We have worked really hard on this and we’re so excited to showcase our hard work. The thrashion show took place in the hall this week. We had some amazing girls volunteer to model the piece. The show was recorded and will be shared with parents and students in the coming weeks.
The girls from 6th class are taking part in a tag rugby programme with Ray McCabe from Leinster Rugby. Ray is teaching the girls all the rules of tag rugby including passing and travelling. On Tuesday the girls had the opportunity to practice lots of drills and even participated in some mini games and matches. Ray will be working with the girls in order to prepare them for a "Twilight Blitz," in Clontarf Rugby Club in the new year!
